I'm not an attorney and I don't let any F-ing attorney push me around, and that's from experience.

I hope most of you attorneys lose your jobs. You deserve the misfortune. Now you can go out there and get your hands dirty, do an honest days work for an honest day's pay and labor for a living instead of taking advantage of other people.

this post is AWESOME (and hilarious) and truthful. So many of my friends who still have jobs are miserable b/c they are overworked with no bonus and a salary cut. Moreover, at first they had at least the ability to be able to look down on their poor miserable laid off colleagues and at least feel a little better about their situation. But now, many of their laid off colleagues are much happier now that they're not in BigLaw and are traveling or doing everything they didn't have time to do. So, not only do they have less money and more hours to work, they can't even gloat about still having a shitty job. Yeah, a lot of unemployed lawyers are worried about their next paycheck, but I know alot of them who wouldn't ever go back to BigLaw and see their lay off as a wake up call to do something that makes them happy.

Also, people, please remember you're an F-ing attorney--don't let anyone, including Father BigLaw, push you around when you get laid off. Contact the EEOC if you have any claim at all and NEGOTIATE THE SHIT OUT OF THE SEVERANCE PACKAGE. Milk it for all you can. Take the money and run.
